Current Case: Nursing Home Malpractice in Inman

A family in Upstate South Carolina is suing a nursing home operation for medical malpractice, and attorney Charles J. Hodge of the Hodge & Langley law firm is representing them.

Dorothy Faye Ertzberger recently passed away while living in Magnolia Manor Inman  in Inman, S.C. In the law suit filed by her son on behalf of her estate, he asserts that the staff at Magnolia Manor was not properly trained, and that they did not administer necessary medical treatment to the late Mrs. Ertzberger. The suit alleges that the nursing home’s departures from the nursing home standard of care caused Mrs. Ertzberger “pain and suffering, mental distress, medical bills and loss of dignity” and ultimately her untimely death.

The case also involves the parent company of Magnolia Manor, Fundamental Long Term Care Holdings, LLC against which the complaints include: Negligence/Recklessness, Corporate Negligence, Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult, Wrongful Death, and three actions related to the corporate structure of the holding company (Joint Venture, Alter Ego/Piercing the Corporate Veil, and Amalgamation of Interests).

The suit was filed in April of 2016, and will be litigated in Spartanburg.
